CCPRH opens North-East Regional Office in Maiduguri, Borno State
On the 26th of April 2024, CCPRH took a strategic momentous step to enhance its visibility and impact in addressing sexual and reproductive health and rights by opening a North-East Regional office in Maiduguri, Borno State. The grand opening drew key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. Highlights of the event included a ribbon cutting ceremony, ably led by the UNFPA representative, Dr. Emmanuel Gbejewoh a guided walking tour of the new office, and goodwill messages from government stakeholders, CCPRH’s partners, and representatives of both international and non-governmental organizations.
Goodwill Messages
A series of heartfelt goodwill messages followed, delivered by esteemed guests representing government agencies and international and non-governmental organizations. Among them were Dr. Tijjani, Director of Emergency Medical Response at the Borno SMOH; Mrs. Fati Ali, Director of Community and Family Health at Borno SPHCDA; Director of Sports and Youths Empowerment; Hadiza Pema, State Programme Lead at E-health Africa; Dr Emmanuel Gbejewoh MDSO Analyst at UNFPA; Dr Tijani Maji, Senior Technical Coordinator at FHI 360; Obarn Tesugh, Executive Director of the Super Kindness Foundation; and representatives from Action Against Hunger and Médecins Du Monde. These messages underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing reproductive health agendas and reaffirmed the commitment of various stakeholders to supporting the CCPRH’s objectives. Each speaker offered encouragement and solidarity, reflecting a shared purpose and dedication to the cause.
Refreshment/Closing
The event concluded with a convivial reception, where participants could engage in informal discussions and networking. Refreshments were served, creating an atmosphere of conviviality and camaraderie as participants celebrated the successful opening of the North-East Regional Office. A group picture and closing remark were delivered, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the event’s success and reiterating the CCPRH’s unwavering commitment to advancing reproductive health in the region.
